I was diagnosed with “Chronic” Lyme Disease in 1994. I went from being a healthy, active 43-year-old career woman to days of unrelenting pain, depression and disability. I lost my new home, marriage and love of life. My condition continued to worsen and I was sinking deeper into despair. When I first saw Dr. Mark Ahrens, D.C., I was in pain from my neck down to my feet and everywhere in between.  I had been having mini strokes and my speech had been impeded.  After x-rays and treatment the pain in my neck was less than it had been, and within 10 minutes of leaving Dr. Mark's office, I was beginning to speak clearly.  My vision was becoming clearer as well.

During my initial visit with Dr. Thad Dall, D.C., in October of 2009, he didn't use some high dollar CT scan or even run any kind of blood work. He used a method called muscle testing. This method allowed my own body to tell him the cause of my ailments. He gave me explanations as to why I was in pain and why I had been so sick. Prior to seeing Dr. Thad, I had been sent to different specialists who ran all kinds of tests on me. After all the blood work, MRI's and several CT scans, they were still clueless as to why I was in pain and why I had been sick. It was after that initial visit I began to cancel all my appointments with my traditional doctor and the many specialists that I had been sent to over the previous year.

Since that visit, Dr. Thad and Dr. Mark Ahrens, D.C., have helped me control a thryoid problem, breathing problems, as well as back, hip and neck pain. I had been suffering from headaches/migraines for about 2-3 years, with them becoming more severe and often in the past year.  After missing several days of work in one month, my supervisor mentioned Chiropractic Natural Healthcare and Dr. Mark Ahrens, D.C.  She said that they might be able to help.  When I went to see him for the first time in late September/early October 2010, he had me tell him about anything and everything that could’ve resulted in my headaches.  When I let him know I had been in three car wrecks over three years and never got treated for ten years, he explained how that might be causing the headaches.  He determined what was wrong by seeing how I reacted to muscle movements he performed on me and found out my atlas was out of place.  He explained in detail how this will cause migraines.  To fix this problem, he didn’t twist my neck nor do some large cracking noises like you hear some chiropractors doing.  Instead he laid me on an adjustable table and let gravity and slight pressure from his hands do the work.  After several more follow-up visits in the next week and a half, he followed up with overall body-care to make sure everything else was in place and to continue checking that my atlas held and didn’t move out of place again.  I am pleased to say I haven’t had a migraine or severe headache for five months, when I had been used to getting some kind of head pain at least several times a week.  I have stopped using over-the-counter pain medication every other day and can absolutely say that if I hadn’t gone to Dr. Ahrens, I would still be suffering.  The part that I truly love is how he addresses total body health and makes sure during my monthly check-ups that all of me is okay, not just my head.  Thank you Dr. Ahrens and Chiropractic Natural Healthcare!!
